1. Suriya Parikara Sthalam

Sri Desikanathar Koil, Surakkudi

Suriakudi, came to be known as Surakudi. Sun God had offered his prayers to Sri Desikanathar, to relieve him of his karma, seeking paaba vimoshanam. The 1st aarathi pooja is performed to the Sun God. There are plenty of sun flowers around the temple.

2. Chandran Parihara Sthalam

Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple, Arimalam

Ari means Chandra and mala means child. Due to a curse, the size of Chandra started reducing. After losing everything, Chandra came to this place, which he found was with many vilva trees. The deity here, placed Chandra on his forehead, to give Chandra his paaba vimoshanam. Chandra got rid of his curse. Later he requested the deity that this place be called as Arimalam and hence this place got its name.

3A. Sri Virudhapureeshwarar Temple, Thirupunavasal

Thirupunavasal Sri Vruddhapureeshwarar or Pazhampathinathar Temple - built beyond 2000 yrs. A Paadal Petra Sthalam.
Sri Viruthapureeswarar is the largest Shiva Lingam in the World, 9ft in height & 82.5 ft in circumference.

Sri Sowmiya Narayana Perumal Temple, Thirukoshtiyur

One of the 108 Divya Desams of Lord Vishnu.
Thirukoshtiyur Nambigal, taught his disciple Ramanuja, the mantra "Om Namo Narayanaya” from here. Pururavan, the son of Budhan (Mercury) flew above Thiru Koshtiyur on his way for a bath in the Ganges. Pururavan was brought down to this place through the powers of the Ashtanga Vimana. Having had a darshan of the Thiru Koshtiyur Lord and lured by His presence, Pururavan built the town of Thirukoshtiyur.

5A. Pattamangalam Guru Bhagwan Temple

At Pattamangalam Guru sthalam, Lord Dakshinamurthy faces east, in a sitting Veerasana posture, smiling, fair in complexion, wearing a crescent moon & kondrai flower, holding Agni in the upper right hand, Gnana Mudra in the lower right hand, a serpent in the left upper hand and placing the lower left hand on his lap.



5B.Sri Namapureeswarar Temple, Alangudi - Guru Sthalam

Known as the 2nd Guru Sthalam. Lord Vishnu worshiped Lord Shiva in the form of Nandi The Nandi has a Namam and the Presiding deity is called as Namapureeswarar. The Sun's rays reach directly on Sri Namapureeswarar for 3 minutes.
